Hollywood AID

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Each day we turn on the television to see a parade of movie stars. They are shown in clothes that cost more than the average car. Of course they are pretty to look and the many of the movies are enjoyable.

So you ask m what my bitch is? It’s when they start talking bout politics. Its easy to see that California is extremely liberal, and Hollywood especially. That’s fine; they have the right to speak out on their political beliefs. What’s not right is they have an access to the media that the average person doesn’t. Still, I can’t fault them for that.

What I can fault them for is demanding the government increase social spending. They shout each time congress wants to cut taxes. Many said in the last instance of a tax cut, that they claimed was only for the rich, “I don’t need a tax cut. Give a tax cut to the poor.”

This is so ridiculous, the poor doesn’t pay taxes. Since these rich movie stars don’t need the tax cut, why don’t they give it to the poor. I have to pause for a second to say that many in Hollywood do contribute to worthy causes.

If the Hollywood crowd wants to do more they are welcome to donate money to the government. Since the tax cuts, I have not heard of a single person wanting to pay extra taxes. I know I am beating a dead horse on this subject.

What brought on this bitch was the ‘Live AID’ concert. It wasn’t about raising money for a worthy cause, such as ‘Farm Aid’ or one of the fundraisers. This one was to ask governments to give more funding to Africa, to fight AIDS. If you want to give money, give your own damn money, not mine.

I should save Africa for a bitch unto itself. We can pour billions of dollars into Africa but its not going to make much of a difference. If I remember right we have spent about 300 billion in Africa since the 70’s. Most of the money we have put into Africa has gone to the dictators and their thugs. The only way we can truly help the people of Africa is to teach them how they catch AIDS. Basically teach them to keep their penises in their pants. AIDS is mostly spread through promiscuous sex.

Too many times we think governments and money can solve a problem. Governments tend to be the root of the problem, not the cure. Next time you see one of the famous people parading around on television in their finery telling how the government needs to do something about a problem; stop and think if that is the best way.

I know the face of the enemy, and have seen it

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Bravo Tony Blair! It’s about time some world leader stood up to these punk terrorist and propagators of hate speech. Once again I just don’t get some people’s way of thinking. Around the world you have Arabic people preach the evils of democracy and western ideals.

In the USA we have laws regarding hate speech. If I would say something derogatory about a minority I can be jailed. Yet one of these minorities is protected under freedom of speech. They can teach the hatred of all American citizens, as well as westerners.

Where are the equal rights in this country? If we are going to outlaw hate speech, which I disagree with, we should outlaw it for all. These people are not only preaching hatred but also demanding the lives our children.

While this same group of people is trying to kill us we are searching old Anglo women in airports and train stations. We do this to not appear profiling any single descent. We know the face of the enemy but refuse to see it. Its time the people rose up to stop this insanity.

I am aware that many of the people of this country agree with the care taken not to profile. Some minorities fear profiling and I can understand why. During WW2 many Japanese were wrongfully imprisoned but we did it for self-preservation. We knew the face of the enemy and took precautions. Today we know the face of the enemy and choose to ignore it.

Profiling can and does work. Our police force captures criminals everyday with profiling. I think they call it “instinct” as well as being a professional observer. If the police see a 12 year old black or white child sneaking around with a backpack, and at the same time observe an Arabic man or woman behaving nervously with a backpack. Which would you want the police to investigate? I think the answer is obvious to anyone. Is this not profiling? Call it what ever you please but it’s the correct thing to do.

Once again kudos to Tony Blair for his firm stand on hate speech. I can’t wait till our own leaders stand up and do what’s right. WE do know the face of the enemy, its time to take action.

I need to add this in closing. I am a firm believer in freedom of speech. I hesitate taking that freedom from anyone but I see it as no different than shouting fire in a crowded theater. When these people say I must die or those I love must die, I take that as shouting fire.

The Sea of Immigration

Friday, August 5th, 2005

Far out in the ocean, farther than one can see, the water swells unnoticed. This swell moves according to the winds an currents. Even the fishermen in their boats barely notice this swell. This swell begins to move toward land and as the depth lessens the swell rises in the water trying to maintain its energy. Suddenly the water is too shallow for the swell to maintain itself and begins to roll violently toward the shore.

That is pretty much the life cycle of a wave. I find that life is not dissimilar. Lets take immigration for instance. Many of us, as well as talk radio have been talking about illegal immigration. This is the swell far out from land, basically unnoticed.

We wondered why the mainstream media did not take this problem and report on it. Instead, from the mainstream media we only saw the plight of immigrant workers, illegal or otherwise. They wanted it to appear that anyone who was unhappy with the lack of immigration policies were racist and insensitive. This is the swell that went unnoticed by the fishermen.

Occasionally the politicians would talk about the lack of security at our borders but none dared to do anything about it, in fear they would lose Hispanic voters. Four years after 9/11 the borders are no more secure than they were before. We have states like North Carolina that hand out driver’s license to anyone that walks in. This state has made a token effort to resolve that problem. At least there I some talk of illegal immigration from government and mainstream media, a change from the past. This is the swell as it begins to enter shallower waters.

At last there is talk in Washington of actually doing something about the borders. We have Salvadorian gangs as well who knows what else riff-raff moving into the country. There are states and local governments that are attempting to act on their own to combat this problem. I am pleased to at last see some serious action starting to unfold. The swell is rising up in the water as it nears land.

Will that wave ever crash to the beach? Will our politicians do what they have sworn to do? They all take an oath to abide by the laws of this country, to protect it from invaders. We are being invaded everyday and they do nothing. I’m not going to hold my breath waiting on that wave to crash onto the beach of life.

Unions, who needs them?

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005

Very often I get into a debate with union workers about their rights. I’m sorry but I don’t get it. A person asks for a job and the employer gives them one. Suddenly the worker feels he or she has the right to tell the employer how to run his or her business.

Recently I entered into a debate with a Canadian worker that is being locked out because they opposed the company’s hiring outside contractors. There are too many details to list but I must say I can feel sympathy for that Canadian worker. I’ myself, had my job replaced by outsource workers.

Having said that (I hate that over used phrase), The employer has the right to hire whomever thy wish to do the job. In the case of the Canadian he says the contract workers are inferior to the company workers. This may be so, in fact I am sure its so.

But I have to ask the question, if the workers are that inferior, won’t the company go out of business or be forced to fire the contractors. I support the right of the company to make decisions, even stupid ones.

As for myself, I want government to do only the things they were sanctioned to do by the United States constitution (I’ll bitch on this later). By the government empowering unions to make demands you have in effect take control of the company. How would you feel if the government empowered your neighbors to tell you how to use your property…wait, they are doing that (yet another bitch to com).

Okay now that we have determined that the government has given power over the companies to the employers what is to become of this? Probably just move the company to Mexico and fire all the workers and hire workers that will work for lower wages and not want to have power over the company.

For years in the USA companies wore a path as they moved south to find cheaper labor and no union. Today you find companies once again moving offshore to avoid high corporate taxes and to avoid the unions.

What can we do to solve this exodus? I’ll ramble about that in later bitches

OH PLEASE! What is up with NASA?

Monday, August 1st, 2005

NASA seems to think that space travel has to be safe. I have news for them. If they think they’re going to build a safe spaceship, then they might as well get out of the space business. Space is a risky business, not a place for wimps like NASA.

The news media is as much to blame as NASA. They have NASA running scared. The news media acts disappointed when a shuttle doesn’t explode. If you listen to the press conferences they only ask things like “Is the shuttle going to explode, how long is the shuttle program grounded”.

The astronauts are aware of the risks of space flight and accept those risks. Media back off and let NASA do its job, getting on with the business of manned space flight. In the future there will be accidents. Others will die and we will mourn them.

I’ve Got a Bitch

Monday, August 1st, 2005

Finally there is some talk of controlling our southern borders. For decades riff-raff have been crossing the border for any number of illegal activities. The one we hear most about are the immigrant workers.

Its fine and good they seek a better way of life. I do wonder why they don’t put as much effort into building their own country. We have adjusted our trade laws to help improve conditions in Mexico. Still the country does not seem to prosper. This is a Bitch for another time, though.

In this country people say we need immigrants (illegal or not) to do the jobs Americans will not do. I’m sorry but I do not accept this. If employers cannot get the people to do the jobs then the jobs are not paying enough or the jobs are just too over loaded.

Is this just a new form of slavery? Bringing in workers from a poor country, pay them low wages Americans cannot or will not work for. Paying them makes things right, its not slavery, they are being paid. This is not much different than the goods we buy from other countries where people live in horrible conditions and work for nearly nothing.

America, stop and think what’s the right thing to do. The obvious is not always the best.
